What Is it?- Closing the Bones is an indigenous Mexican postpartum healing ritual, (though some version of wrapping is found in virtually every indigenous culture around the world!),using long Mexican scarves (called rebozos),to gently ‘rock’ the body to release tension and to re-align the hips, pelvis and uterus,as well as the energy centres of the body and then “wrap” the body in a beautiful symbolic closing gesture , which also closes the energy field after the immense physical, emotional and energetic opening during pregnancy and birth.
I usually offer it as a 2-2.5 hour ceremony which also involves Ayurvedic oil massage on the hands ,feet, face and belly, and closes with a beautiful shamanic drum journey.
Beneficial for: everyone, at all ages and stages, to support healing ,transition, grief , change and All rites of passage.

Imperative for: Postpartum women. Ideally within 40 days the of birth but still beneficial when done years after, and can support healing unprocessed birth and postpartum trauma.
During pregnancy: An adapted version can be done and is deeply nourishing and the rocking is amazing for releasing pain in the pelvis and lower back.
During Peri Menopause and After Menopause:Individually or in group ceremony,we are looking at all that you have sown and harvested in this life, honouring the wisdom that you have gained and the lessons learnt, and acknowledging the ties that you are ready to cut, where closure is required and as you transition into the wise woman stage of life, with all the shifts and changes , you can find stability, clarity and healing while you are held in this warm and loving embrace.
